Event overview

The only way to achieve a goal is to deliver services to clients. Building a client services model is a way to test that all of the services offered deliver on that goal. It is done in four steps.

The final outcome

An agreed hierarchy of who the clients are today and what services they are offered. Often an organisation does not have this agreed as a model. Therefore different parts of the organisation have different views as to what the model looks like. Relations between different parts of the organisation may be unclear and the amount of time and effort to support external clients may be under estimated.

In developing this model it is important to reach beyond the obvious products and services to discover all the other activities that take place. This will give clarification about what the organisation needs to focus its attention on in order to be able to do more with less and gain shared understanding and ensures all services align with stated goals.
