Competency development

As technology and business trends evolve, professionals at all levels need to continuously update their skills sets to stay competitive.  This puts increasing pressure on L&D professionals to correctly identify key competencies for each job role, and design competency models, frameworks and development systems.

'Competency' and 'competencies' are defined as the behaviours that individuals must have, or must acquire, to perform effectively at work (CIPD). 'Competence' and 'competences' are broader concepts of demonstrable performance outputs as well as behaviour inputs.

Competency Development

Competencies are often grouped into four distinctive domains:

  • Core, that apply to all employees
  • Technical, that apply to specific jobs
  • Behavioural, that define how employees behave
  • Leadership, that apply to managers and leaders

The best method for integrating talent management throughout an organisation is to use competency models as the foundation for all aspects of strategic HR, including selecting, developing and deploying talent. When competency modelling efforts are supported by senior leaders, aligned to strategy, and based on validated research, it leads to increased shareholder value.

Assessor and verifier training

We offer certified workshops in assessing and verifying competence in the workplace. These workshops aim to identify, select and train experienced personnel from various disciplines within your organisation in conducting assessments, as per organisational and international best practices in Assessment and Verification.

By the end of the course successful participants will have attained a level of skill sufficient to become certified as Assessors/ Verifiers and will be in a position to assess performance following the development framework.
