Change planning and management

“When you are finished changing, you’re finished”
Benjamin Franklin, US President

Unless well designed and even better led, change management is spectacularly unsuccessful. It is accepted that 60-70% of change initiatives fail (and have consistently failed since the 1970s). Whilst there are dominant change management models, it is often not the framework that is at fault, but the capability of management. Harvard Business Review suggests that a core contributing reason is the capability of managers and leaders to manage change. This is supported in other research.

An IBM survey confirms that CEO’s identify change as their most pressing issue. This has become particularly important given the rate of global, technical, political and economic change. Many leaders now feel ill-equipped to create an agile organisation and stay ahead of the dynamic change curve.

Integrated change management

We assist organisations to manage change at multiple levels to ensure an integrated approach:

  • Strategic drivers
If not already identified in strategic plans, we help you identify drivers of change over the short, medium and long-term that create or impact scope and type of change.

  • Planning
We will develop or support you to develop practical change plans that deliver lasting results.

  • Cross-functional integration
We work to identify how change initiatives impact other aspects of your organisation and develop integrated frameworks, plans and approaches.

  • Implementation
We don’t simply hand you a plan and give you an invoice. We will support you through the process, either directly or indirectly with coaching and mentoring, to ensure lasting change occurs.
